SOVEREIGN GRACE BAPTIST CHURCH - "Shall I Find Faith in the Earth"?

That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.  (1 Timothy 6:14-16)

Come and Worship! Sing! Learn! We are a local church assembling under the Headship of the Lord Jesus Christ, preaching the whole counsel of the Word of God, carrying out the Great Commission to today's world, living in submission and obedience to the Divine Will and Providence of Almighty God, empowered by the Holy Spirit.

We are committed to the worship and exaltation of Christ as Savior and Lord, edification and fellowship of the brethren, personal realization and application of the divinely-given spiritual gifts for the furtherance of the Kingdom of God, prayer, personal witness, evangelism, and discipleship in the commandments of Christ.

Our Past, Present, & Future

We have assembled and worshipped together for more than 37 years, worshipping together as a "house church" in the model of the early New Testament churches.

The New Testament local church must be an unaffiliated, unincorporated assembly of God's elect remnant, chosen by the eternal counsel of the Godhead before the foundation of the world, redeemd by the atonement of Christ's sacrifice on the cross at Calvary, regenerated unto new life by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and demonstrating obedience and service to Christ through the two ordinances given unto them--believer's baptism and observance of the Lord's Supper--until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ in glory and judgment.

The church is called to be Baptist in its theology insofar as guided by historical Christian doctrine, not merely a nominal or organizational structure. This includes believer's baptism by immersion, acceptance of the Bible as the complete and inerrant revelation of God, separation of the church and state (as rightly understood to mean autonomy of the local church under the Lordship and Headship of Jesus Christ apart from any subjugation to the authority of the state through incorporation or other means). The church is Calvinistic insofar as its understanding and defense to God's sovereignty and sole responsibility for salvation by faith alone, from mankind's natural state of being dead in sin, through the unconditional election of God, in an act of particular redemption rather than universal salvation, through irresistable grace, to the absolute assurance of the perseverance of the saints. This "Calvinistic" teaching is only a summation of these Biblical doctrines as opposed to the notions of Arminianism, and not an endorsement of other beliefs and practices which contradict Biblical truth and historical Baptist practice.
